Story
I'd been struggling with the idea of remixing this tune. A lot of David Dunn's work goes round and round my head for ages, a sign of a good composer.

Like Tim Follin's Scumball, this and many of Dunn's music bases around a melody that ends almost as quickly as it begins, but leaves a lasting impression.

Some of my more recent personal music (not that there's really been that much!) has been sounding quite retro in terms of sounds and arrangement.

In fact, for some reason, I originally aimed for something along the line of the UK TV (dreadfull series) The Gentle Touch. Haunting, yet strangly compelling. The odd apeal of a 70's Kevin Keagan wig-alike, Maggie Forbes cannot be discounted entirely.

But as it turned out, you really don't know how close I came to naming this Flight Path 737 - Monsieur with your big jumbo you are really spoiling us (remix) .

For those of you that are familiar with the silver-gold foil wrapped treats, popular as 80's christmas presents for your elderly relatives - you need not look any futher - this is your fondant nut based dream come true , albeit in a c64 remesiscey type package, complete with soaring chocolatey chords and smooth velvety centre finish.

Sure you enjoyed it, but what the fuck are you gonna do with that big plastic box once all the sweets have been scoffed?

Make a bit fat see-through bus*. Thats what.

  • someone at school made a 1ft Optimus Prime from one of these things, I kid u not.

Hauntingly haunting.
Atmospheric and haunting.
Sounds like Kitaro! Relaxing, clear and yet powerful!
Wonderful! Added to my collection.

The art of Vangelis+The sound of Neuronium+The touch of Suzanne Ciani=one of the best tune on RKO
This one on repeat, in a flight across the atlantic against the sunset. Simply awesome!

The remix of Flight path 737 reminds me of a cheesy late 70's early 80's fererro roche advert. I'm not saying because of this it's a poor remix, cos in all truth it's very well performed with some excellent choices of instruments, and above all it ooses emotion.

tho, the tune is basic, it's perfectly orchestrated proving without a shadow of doubt that you don't have to over complicate matters to bring out a damn fine piece of work.

The original is fairly short in terms of what you can do with it - Tim's done a great job here on taking the little bit he's given and turning it into a majestic hymn. The sounds do remind me of Jochen Hippels work - particularly his Give it a Try CD from 1990.
Brilliant piano melody and very nostalgic razory (typical Amiga/C64/ST chip sound) bass backing. Good clear recording as well.

This rate up among the best remixes I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. The original game sound track wasn't something you paid that much attention to due to it being so short and if I remember correctly, only present at the start. Here it has been turned into 5:13 of slowly building up with a rich very 80s sounding vibration bass synth or something, leading up to a nice peak at 2:01 where the Piano enters the song and gives the whole thing a sense of completion. This song goes beyond mere remix into a great piece on it's own worth listening to even if you haven't a clue to what the game was about. But I don't remember Flight Path 737 sounding _THIS_ good!

Beautyfully arranged! Tim Forsyth takes us up to higher dimensions with his chillouty remix of Flight Path 737. The arrangement reminds me a little of Clannad. Very good instrumentation and a lot of emotion make this tune Outstanding for me.

What an impeccable arrangement! You managed to add so much emotion to the tune just with that. But the instrumentation is outstanding, too. One of the commenters mentioned Kitaro - yeah, I agree, it's very much in his style. A beautiful, beautiful rendition of a touching melody. I am writing this comment in 2020, 17 years after you published this tune, and it definitely stood the test of time.
