Story
Blimey, this takes me back!

I remember in 1996 (was it really that long ago) living at the time with what turned out to be a total psycho girl. Over the course of 3 saturday mornings I had a burst of inspiration and threw together pretty much what you hear up to the point where the arpeggios start.

Inspiration of how it was going to sound pretty much came from Tim Follin's work the SNES (Plok and Spiderman&Xmen). Both of which are incredible pieces of music.

It then lay around for about a year while I partied and generally just dropped the whole computer thing. A friend of mine told me I must finish it and so I did.

The whole piece comes from the wonderful JV1080. Not a particualy analogue sounding synth, but its got bags of polyphony, community support (at the time) and easy to program.

Also, like everything I do, its all done from scratch, played live and quantized where necessary. I remember it took me ages practicing the quick succession from 00:37- 00:39 to get it right!!

For the last bit, the synth jazzy slidy bit, I just took a sample of the C64 lead voice timestretched it to figure out all the notes. Sorry, but I like to find ways of getting the job done without using sid2midi, which, funnily enough I dont own.

My only regret is now having given the drums more impact. But at the time, I really didnt have any more equipment than a P90, Cubase and my JV.

Not bad, but I prefer Jogeir's version.
